Ye Olde Cemeteries

Commack was already settled by the late 1600's and over the next 300 years a number of small cemeteries were created around the area. Most people have seen them while driving but few have the time to stop and look. This page takes a look at some of those cemeteries and who is buried there. Wicks Cemetery - Across from Harned Sawmill. This may be the original wicks family cemetery and date to the mid 1700's. Jervis/Wicks Cemetery - Located on Harned Road across from the parkway exit ramp. This is another mostly Wicks family cemetery and dates to c.1813. Burr Cemetery - Located in the Modells/Home Depot parking lot this cemetery dates to c.1851-1878.
